Long-Distance Bluetooth Earbuds: What Actually Affects Range
Standard Bluetooth range is roughly 10 meters (33 feet) in open space, but walls, other wireless devices and the Bluetooth version on both your earbuds and your phone all affect real-world range more than most marketing claims suggest.

Bluetooth version is a rough proxy, not a guarantee
Newer Bluetooth versions (5.0 and later) generally offer better range and stability than older ones, but the actual result also depends on your phone's Bluetooth version and the physical environment — two Bluetooth 5.3 devices in a building full of concrete walls will still lose connection sooner than in an open room.
Line of sight matters more than most people expect
Bluetooth signals weaken significantly through walls, floors and even your own body — keeping your phone in a front pocket rather than a back pocket, for example, can noticeably improve consistency.
One earbud dropping before the other is normal at range
Many true wireless earbuds relay the signal from one earbud to the other rather than both connecting to your phone independently, so range issues often show up as one side cutting out first.
